Stu Robinson Jr. and Robert James Racing team up for LOSC title push

BEAVERTON, ON - Multi-time Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified winner Stu Robinson Jr. will partner with Robert James Racing this season to pursue a first career Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series championship.

Robinson has previous experience with RJR contending with the Ontario Modified Racing Series and is more than excited to transition into full-bodied action with the Bradford, ON-based team.

“It’s a huge opportunity to be able to chase a championship for Robert James Racing this year,” smiles a visibly excited Robinson. “I mean, there’s no question that Rob’s stuff is top notch. The equipment is great and the people we’re surrounded with are even better. This is an exciting year for me. I’m looking forward to seeing just how far we can take this team”

On the topic of the LOSC Series relatively abbreviated 8-race schedule, Robinson admits that it will place particular importance on each individual start, with the margin for error almost non-existent.

“It’s a short schedule so every win and every podium will be incredibly valuable,” observes the veteran. “There are some unknowns for me this year - because I’ve never turned a lap at Full Throttle [Motor Speedway] and it’s been a lot of years since I’ve been to Delaware [Speedway]”

“So, our whole season is going to be about relying on our experience at places like Peterborough and Flamboro and then learning on the job at Full Throttle and Delaware. It’s going to be a challenge - and that’s what motivates me the most”

Robinson also makes sure to credit the depth of talent that has committed to the 2018 edition of the LOSC Series, explaining just how much he and his team are looking forward to hitting the road for a fulltime effort with the cross-province tour.

“I think there’s a whole lot of underrated talent on the [Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Series] roster,” opines Robinson. “Working to chase down a championship against these teams is going to be a stiff challenge for us”

“At the end of the day, the only thing we can control is how hard we work,” adds the BEAVERTON, ON racer. “We’re ready to work together as a team to get to where we need to be. I’m ready for the challenge and I know that the guys on this team are too. This is one of the best programs in the province, and I’m excited to show Ontario just how strong we can be.”
