NCATS Montreal: Fitzpatrick takes pole with record setting run

MONTREAL (Aug. 17, 2012) – J.R. Fitzpatrick collected his second pole at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Friday with a record-run during qualifying for Saturday's NAPA Autopro 100. The Ayr, Ontario, driver covered the 2.709-mile road course in 1 minute, 44.681 seconds for an average speed of 93.163 mph. The lap eclipsed the record Andrew Ranger set last year at 1:44.900 (93.003 mph). It was the ninth career pole for Fitzpatrick, who won the inaugural pole at Montreal in 2007.

NASCAR: Dodge to Withdraw from NASCAR at Conclusion of 2012 Season

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Aug. 7, 2012) – SRT Motorsports announced today that Dodge will withdraw from NASCAR competition at the conclusion of the 2012 season. Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – Street and Racing Technology Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC, made the announcement during a media teleconference call. The decision affects current involvement in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series. Penske Racing currently fields two Dodge Charger cars in the Sprint Cup Series and two Dodge Challenger cars in the Nationwide Series.

DELAWARE RESULTS: Urlin wins APC Summer Showdown

LONDON, ON - It took until after midnight, but when the feature was done, Jonathan Urlin was in victory lane of the APC Summer Showdown. Urlin came home in front of legendary stock car racer Steve Robblee and NASCAR's Travis Pastrana. Matt Pritiko and Mark Watson rounded out the top five.
