“Based on an expected government approved minimum of 100 fans, with strict adherence to mask use, social distancing and close screening we’re looking at our first show of the year – presented by Country 105 – to open the season Saturday, June 5,” explained Josiasse. “From there, our goal is to race every-other-weekend until Labour Day.”
Staff is committed to building on a foundation that includes the Peterborough Speedway hometown Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, KOD Disposal Super Stock and Late Model divisions. Special guests such as the Ontario Legend, OSCAAR Modified and Hot Rod, Outlaw Midget and the OMRS Modified classes will also be featured during the bi-weekly schedule.
“We’ll do everything possible to keep the anticipated Canadian Legend Asphalt Nationals on the revised calendar,” according to the track owner and promoter. “Originally planned as a two-day show on the last weekend in August, things have been adjusted to Saturday, August 28th only, with the program line-up and format determined by provincial restrictions.”
As was the case during the September events last year, teams will need to notify Peterborough Speedway personnel of their intent to compete prior to each event. Payment of the registration fee – that includes admission for a select number of crew members – will need to be sent to the track, along with a completed COVID-19 screening questionnaire for everyone attending with the team.
Participating divisions and complete schedule details for each show can be found at www.peterboroughspeedway.com and on the track’s Facebook or Twitter social media platforms. Event information is subject to provincial government protocol and restrictions. Dates may be adjusted as required.
