"I have always thought that the Rand crew does a great job and thoroughly enjoyed our time in the F2000 series so it was really no surprise that the new F1600 series would be successful," said team owner Brian Graham. "We have a big break in our schedule so it was a perfect fit for us to come down and take advantage of the Mid Ohio stop. I am looking forward to seeing allot of familiar faces in the paddock."
The Piper DF5/Honda will be in the hands of new team driver Jesse Lazare. Jesse has had two race events with the team and was quickly up to speed and in fact has scored three podiums in four starts and the other finish was a fourth. Lazare is regarded as one of Canada's top karters and has several National Championships to his credit. This will be Jesse's third different track in three events and he is taking advantage of the Mid Ohio School the day prior to the test day to get up to speed and learn the nuances of the tricky circuit.
