Emotional Weekend for Jocelyn Fecteau and Media Racing

Trois-Rivières, August 11, 2013.- The Media Racing Team and its driver Jocelyn Fecteau contested this weekend's two Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) races, presented as part of the forty-fourth edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

They were two intense races for Fecteau and his Rockstar Scion tC, with a highest Touring class finish of eighth place. Fecteau fell victim to multiple incidents causing him to miss out on another Top Five result.

"It was a weekend full of emotions," explains Jocelyn Fecteau, currently sitting in sixth in the Touring class driver's championship. "Friday night's race started off well and I was fighting for a Top 5 finish when I let the leaders of the Super Touring class pass me.  Mathieu Audette got by but Alex Healy spun me when he hit my rear right wheel."

Jocelyn added,  "It's something that can happen as part of racing but Alex came to apologize afterwards. Unfortunately, the wheel was completely warped for the last laps, costing me several positions. I finished in ninth."

After missing the qualifying session for the second race, Jocelyn Fecteau started Sunday's race in last spot.

"I had a good start and the Rockstar Scion tC was working really well. I started climbing back when right in front of me, Paul Gravel (Mini) missed his breaking point for Turn 2. He hit the wall of tires and rebounded onto the track, directly onto my car!"

They both had to retire from the race as a result of this accident.

"I would've liked to have offered our partners some better action than that ! But it's the kind of thing that happens that's beyond our control. Luckily, the Rockstar Scion tC is very safe and I was able to escape the incident without a scratch," declared the driver from Mont-St-Grégoire.

Jocelyn Fecteau has a mixed summary of his 2013 experience at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

"This year we had the chance to be right in the middle of the main paddock, with a huge and passionate crowd on-site to admire the CTCC cars.  Being at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières is great visibility for our sponsors and it's always a very intense challenge to compete on this track.  Naturally, we had hoped to finish the two races with enough points to bring us into the Top 5 in the overall championship standings.  Circumstances decided otherwise but the season is not over," concluded Jocelyn Fecteau.

The next event for the CTCC drivers will be on the weekend of August 31st and September 1st for the NASCAR Camping World Trucks weekend at Ontario's Mosport circuit.
