BOWMANVILLE, ON (May 19, 2019)- Sun Peaks, BC racer Jason White opened up the 2019 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season and his #RaceTo100 campaign in his #21 Powder Ventures Excavating Dodge this past weekend on the famed road course at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Since signing on with Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) White has been impressed with the team’s performance.

“Right from the first test in our #21 Powder Ventures Excavating Dodge and through this entire weekend we kept getting better every time out on track” said White. “Knowing the kind of speed we have gives a driver a lot of confidence”.

White started the Clarington 200 from the 14thspot on the grid and it didn’t take long to move forward several positions. Crew Chief Larry Jackson made the call to have White make his scheduled pit stops for fuel and tires for the #21 Powder Ventures Excavating Dodge before the halfway mark. It was a smart strategy.

As the race laps ticked away and other teams cycled through pit stops White benefitted with better track position and a fast car. At one point restarting the #21 Powder Ventures Excavating Dodge in fifth position.

“It felt so good to run up front with these great drivers” said White.

In the late stages of the race White was feeling strong and confident in the #21 Powder Ventures Excavating Dodge and hoping to top his best ever finish of sixth at CTMP.

“I was super pumped and wanting to push a bit harder but Larry was great, he kept me cool and focused on bringing the car home with a solid result”.

While he didn’t better his personal mark, White claimed a 10th place finish with the #21 Powder Ventures Dodge in the season opener.

“Really great day” is how White summed things up. “So happy to be working with the CBRT group, huge thanks to everyone. Larry (Jackson) and I worked so well together, I’m really looking forward to getting back to an oval at Jukasa Speedway in a couple of weeks”.
