During practice Ranger showed plenty of speed in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge but struggled in qualifying. Ranger would climb from 12that the start of the race to bring home a third pace result when the race in the top half of the twin bill after the race was called complete after heavy showers doused the area.
“I was a little concerned about my car after qualifying but we climbed all the way up to third and a good points finish” said Ranger following the first race.
When the weather cleared teams lined up for the second race of the event. Posting the fastest race lap during race number one earned the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge driver the pole position for race number two. Ranger battled with his teammate in the #17 car for much of the race until he pulled out a comfortable lead during an extended green flag run in the second half of race two, taking the checkered flag for his second victory of the 2019 season.
“I’m so happy for the whole team, the guys worked so hard to give me a great car” said Ranger following the win. “I have to thank Mopar and all the guys, they gave me a fast car all day. We came third in the first race and now a win, it’s a great start the western trip it’s fantastic. Very good for the points and now we head to Edmonton” he added.
The win is Rangers 26th career victory in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and extends his championship lead to eight points after six events.
