The day has notably went by at the mercy of mother nature. After cancelling the qualifiers, the NASCAR Pinty's series officials have brought forward the event by 30 minutes. The starting grid was defined by the results of the first practice session. Having made multiple adjustments to the #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare car for the end of the race, this decision was disadvantageous to Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who started the race in fourteenth place. On lap 63, fans were treated to a complete stop of the race. The drivers could only get back on track 53 minutes later.
"Our oval circuit program is efficient, we've proved it again. The pit stop strategy defined with Billy Burns, crew chief, and the crew was efficient and everything was in place to finish strongly. The moment we reached third place, a part of the suspension broke. With 40 laps to go, it wasn't enough to repair it. The #47 WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare car is improving constantly, which is very encouraging for the future," shares Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
