Andrew Gresel Holds OSCAAR Point Lead Entering Final Two Events of 2014

HEPWORTH, ON- Fresh off of a top-5 finish in Round 10 of the OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour at Peterborough Speedway, Andrew Gresel is two events away from his first career tour championship.

"When it comes to the last two races of the season, we're taking the same approach we have all year", explains Gresel. "One lap at a time. One race at a time. The championship is definitely our goal, but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves"

"We're focusing on winning the last two events of the year, and then we'll concentrate on how many points we earned and where we finished in the standings"

Following a 4-race streak of finishing 2nd or better, Gresel found himself in unfamiliar territory at Peterborough Speedway – battling an ill-handling racecar.

"Peterborough didn't exactly go the way we would have liked it to, but I'm still proud of the way my guys fought through it", says Gresel.

"The car was an absolute handful in practice and qualifying, but we made some adjustments that seemed to wake it up in time for the feature", continues the second-generation star. "Unfortunately, we got used up pretty good in the first half of the race, which ended up significantly affecting the handling of the car"

"As bad as the car was at the end, I was doing all I could just to hang on for 5th", shrugs Gresel. "There's no sense in being mad about it, though. There's going to be nights like that, what matters is how you deal with it"

Gresel's Sauble Falls Racing Team will enjoy some downtime before returning to action on September 27th and 28th, for Round 11 of the tour at Sunset Speedway as part of the track's annual 'Velocity 250' weekend.

"The Velocity weekend is always a good time. There's a tonne of cars there, and the stands are absolutely packed. We're all looking forward to getting back to Sunset. It's a track that certainly isn't our best – but we've really been making gains the last couple of starts we've had there"

"We finished 2nd in our last race at Sunset", explains Gresel, "and I think if we unload as good as we were last time, we can find even more speed for the Velocity"
