Buck Scores Podium Finish in Montreal

CTCC: Montreal weekend round-up

TORONTO, ON - For the second time this season, the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC), presented by Continental Tire competed on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal during the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge race event. Three on-track sessions were on the program schedule with qualifying and two races. On Thursday morning, first on the track for the weekend, CTCC competitors were anxious to regain the feel of the track that they experienced during their last visit in June as they had only a 30-minute session to qualify for the afternoon race.

NCATS Montreal: Fitzpatrick takes pole with record setting run

MONTREAL (Aug. 17, 2012) – J.R. Fitzpatrick collected his second pole at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Friday with a record-run during qualifying for Saturday's NAPA Autopro 100. The Ayr, Ontario, driver covered the 2.709-mile road course in 1 minute, 44.681 seconds for an average speed of 93.163 mph. The lap eclipsed the record Andrew Ranger set last year at 1:44.900 (93.003 mph). It was the ninth career pole for Fitzpatrick, who won the inaugural pole at Montreal in 2007.

NASCAR: Canadian Patrick Carpentier will race again in Montreal

MONTREAL, QC - RAB Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing announced today that Canadian driver Patrick Carpentier will drive RAB Racing with Brack Maggard's No. 99 Napa Auto Parts Toyota in the NAPA Auto Parts 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal on Aug. 18.The Joliette (Québec) native won the pole for this race in 2007 and posted second-place finishes in 2007 and 2008. The last three Montreal races saw Carpentier as one of the fastest on the track before mechanical issues or an accident ended his races early.
