Pledger/Willett returned today in a street car in the non-competitive Fast Tour after their #302 Ford Escort Mark IV suffered a mechanical failure in Leg 4.

NEWFOUNDLAND (Sept. 18, 2013) - The sun was shining on Leg 3 of Targa Newfoundland as the rally started out in Lethbridge. The day started with 31 competitors taking the line. There were a couple of incidents, including one vehicle that got into a drift and left the road but only sustained minor damage to the body work – this car will re-enter the competition tomorrow. The second incident caused major front-end damage to the competitor and it is unknown if they will be able to re-enter. In both cases, there were no injuries and no damage to private property.

Gander (September 16, 2013) - After dealing with heavy rain showers the previous day, Monday made for wonderful driving conditions in the 12th annual Targa Newfoundland. Sunny skies with brisk winds allowed for the competitors to enjoy the conditions and push their cars to the limits.

The prologue in Flatrock, Pouch Cove, and Torbay was a total success. It prepared teams for the wet weather driving conditions, how their vehicles handle in both the wet and dry, and how to handle unexpected circumstances.
