CALGARY, AB –  Cameron Hayley of Calgary, Alberta announced his intention to take part in two NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races in 2013. The 16 year-old won the inaugural 'Battle at the Beach' event at Daytona International Speedway in February. It was the first time a Canadian had ever won a NASCAR sanctioned event at Daytona.

NASCAR Canadian Tire Series racer David Thorndyke announced the addition of a new primary sponsor for the 2013 racing season. Again this season Thorndyke will run a partial schedule consisting of road course events and drive the #67 LubeSource Chevrolet.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - NASCAR announced today that Alex Nagy has been named as series director for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Nagy, originally from Brantford, Ontario, brings a wealth of motorsports experience from both the technical and business aspects of the sport. BOWMANVILLE, ON – Canadian Tire Motorsport Park announced its 2013 major event schedule today, headlined by the Canadian debut of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, August 31 – September 1. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the Canadian Touring Car Championship will join the trucks for what promises to be an exciting, action-packed weekend.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series race weekend at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villneuve will not happen in 2013. According to a statement from NASCAR, the sanctioning body was not able to come to an agreement with the promoter.
