Journalist Les Kalman attended the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto on Family Day.

See below for a gallery of images from the show, as well as his impressions of the visit.

I must admit, this was my first auto show and I was slightly overwhelmed. Every major manufacturer had a unique display with several demos.

You (or your kids) could try out just about any vehicle. My 10 year old son is set on the Jaguar F-type, while I’m leaning toward the 4Runner.

The exhibits were amazing and the staff seemed genuinely enthusiast. The show was both informative and interactive, with some fun thrown in. And it was a massive show, occupying the north and south sections, and literally every bit of floor space in between.

The highlight of the show, for me, was the Auto Exotica. Then entire lower level was filled with an amazing array of exotic, super and ‘ultra’ cars.

Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, McLaren, Rolls Royce and Porsche were but a few of the manufacturers.

There were some rare finds as well, including Pagani, Bugatti and Koenigsegg. In fact, the latter displayed their Agera, which recently set the world record for the highest top speed for a production vehicle at 447 km/h.

In fact, five world records were set, including the highest speed on a public road, as this happened just outside of Las Vegas.

Besides the collection of massive horsepower and exquisitely beautiful flowing designs, there was an absurd amount of carbon fiber present, which even made me feel uncomfortable (FYI - I’m a huge carbon fiber fan).
