@MazdaRacing •#MazdaSTEM •@eastdale_ci • OSHAWA, ON (June 3, 2016)- Mazda joins with Durham District Schools for interactive presentations to students.
What: Eastdale CVI will host two STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) student assemblies presented by Mazda Motorsports titled Racing Accelerates Creative Education (R.A.C.E.) Monday, June 6. The first begins at 9:30 am and the second at 12:30 pm. The event is open to media. The presentations are in conjunction with the upcoming Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, which takes place July 7 – 10.
R.A.C.E. is a North American touring program utilizing the science of auto racing to inspire students to consider the many career options in the STEM disciplines. Since 2014, more than 27,000 students have participated. The students will also closely examine the exotic, 190-mph Mazda Prototype race car that will be on display.
Who: Officials from Eastdale and Durham District Schools, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park representatives plus featured presenter Joel Miller. Miller is a mechanical engineer who drives the No. 70 Mazda Prototype in the top category of sports car racing in North America.
When: Monday, June 6 at 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. Interviews available during/after presentation.

Visuals and Interviews:
School officials and a select number of students will be available for interviews
Miller and Mazda executives will be available for interviews.
The presentation involves interactive elements on-stage involving students and school administrators.
The Mazda Prototype, a 190-mph race car, will be on display.
Students will examine the race car closely after the presentation.
