FRASERVILLE, ON (July 21, 2017) – In a Friday night, non-points Invitational held at Kawartha Speedway, the Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modifieds ran a pair of twin 15 lap features to the delight of the gathered crowd.

With starting positions determined through a ‘pill draw’, defending series champion and current point leader Jason Keen (No. 18) led the Vintage Modified field to the green flag in the evening opener, going flag-to-flag to secure the victory. Behind Keen, John Karley (No. 19) and TJ Marshall (No. 15) battled early for second place, with Marshall ultimately emerging with the runner-up position, while Karley fended off repeated challenges from Mike Podd (No. 05) and Steve Trendell (No. 57) to complete the podium finishers.

Round Two also featured a hard-won, flag-to-flag victory, this time the victor’s laurels were earned by CVM veteran Ron Easton. Staring from the outside of the first row, Easton (No. 00) quickly launched to the front of the field, with Steve Trendell firmly stuck to his back bumper. While the two front runners were engaged in a heated dice, Marshall and Keen were able to take advantage of the distraction to close to within striking distance, the final six laps run out with the leading foursome running in lockstep to the checkered flag. John Karley pipped Podd with just two laps remaining to round out the top five.

The Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modifieds will be back in action on July 29 when they return to the friendly environs of Flamboro Speedway.
