@NewHumberstone • PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO… John Waters from Whitesville, NY picked up the $2,000 victory in the Canadian Late Model Nationals for the Sweeney Chevy, Buick, GMC RUSH Dirt Late Models Series at the Humberstone Speedway on Dilts Piston Hydraulics Night. For Waters, it was his second straight win in this event and first tour win on the season.
Brad Rouse from St. Catharines, Ontario won his third PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman feature. Jason Fontaine from Port Colborne, Ontario earned his fifth JC Auto Street Stock feature win of the season. Brandon Iudiciani from Welland, Ontario earned his third Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks feature win of the season. Danny Wurster from Niagara Falls, Ontario won his first Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Truck feature of the season.
The 30 lap A-Main for the RUSH Late Model Tour was led to the green flag by John Waters and Ward Shell with Waters into the lead with Randy Hall taking over second with Shell, Dennis Lunger Jr and fast timer Colton Ledingham racing in the top five early on. Ledingham would pass Lunger to take over fourth place on lap two as Bryce Davis would clear Lunger to move into fifth place on lap four. Bryce Davis would continue to trek towards the front of the field as Davis cleared Ledingham for fourth and then passed Schell for third and then passed Randy Hall to take over second on lap nine. The races first caution came out on lap 11 as Luke Carleton spun in turn four. W.L Stile and Steve LeBarron came together in turn one. The restart would see Waters and Davis jump out into the lead with Dennis Lunger taking over third as Hall had issues going into turn two. Jeff Dayman hit the front straightaway wall to bring out the caution on lap twelve. Waters would open up his advantage over the rest of the field as the race neared the halfway point. Rob Pietz took a wild ride down the back straightaway to bring out the caution on lap 14. Pietz was able to rejoin the field. The restart would see Waters and Shell on the front row with Waters jumping into the lead. The yellow lights would come back on just as the halfway signal was being displayed as a multi-car pileup occurred in turn three. The cars involved included Eric Wilson, Ken Winfield, Luke Carleton and Rob Pietz. Wilson’s night was done as he needed assistance to get back to the pits. Tour points leader entering the night, Max Blair went pitside to change a flat tire. The mid-race restart would see Waters take off into the lead as Bryce Davis and Dennis Lunger Jr moved into second and third with Colton Ledingham taking the fourth spot back from Shell. Ledingham would pass Lunger for third place on lap 20 after Lunger went over the edge of turn two. Rob Pietz would spin in turn two to bring out the caution with three laps remaining, just as Max Blair worked his way back to the eighth position. The three lap shootout would see Waters back into the lead as Davis, Lunger, Ledingham and Hall race in the top five as Blair worked his way to seventh. John Waters would race his way to his second straight Canadian Late Model Nationals victory. Davis would finish in second and was followed to the line by Lunger, Hall and Ledingham.
Brad Rouse and Austin Wood led the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman to the green flag for their 25 lap feature event with Rouse jumping out into the lead. Cody McPherson and Austin Wood would battle for the second spot with Wood regaining the runner up spot on lap four. Rouse would open up his advantage over the rest of the field and would hit the lap traffic on lap 11. Rouse would have trouble in lap traffic as Wood, McPherson and Leslie would put on a great battle for the second position while racing through lap traffic AJ Lewis would spin in turn four to slow the field down for the first time on lap 22. The late race restart would see Rouse jump back into the lead. Rouse would drive on to pick up the win.
Bill Bleich Jr would take off with the early race lead in the 20 lap feature for the JC Auto Street Stocks. Bleich would open up his lead over Vince Fargnoli with Chris Crawford and Jason Fontaine in the top four. Fargnoli would catch Bleich and would take over the lead on lap ten, just as Bleich would loop his racer in turn four, bringing out the races first caution. The restart would see Fontaine take over the lead with Fargnoli giving chase. Crawford would pass Fargnoli to take over second on lap 16. Bleich would work his way back up through the field and raced into the top five. Fontaine would drive away to pick up the win. Crawford, Fargnoli, Bliech in the top four.
Brandon Iudiciani and Evan Curtis shared the front row for the 15 lap Cosco Haulage Mini Stock feature event with Iudiciani leading the field. Rob Goulding would take over second from Curtis and would begin to go after Iudiciani. The top three would pull away from Tyler Lafantaisie. Goulding would challenge Iudiciani for much of the feature distance.
Craig Vlasic and Danny Wurster led the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks to the green flag for their 15 lap feature event with Wurster showing the way. Vlasic would challenge Wurster for the lead as Dillon Llord would take over third with Mike Toovey running in fourth. Taylor Vanderzanden would bring out the caution on lap 11 after coming to a stop on the front straightaway. On the restart, Wurster would take off with the lead as Vlasic, Llord, and Toovey raced inside the top four. Wurster would go on to pick up his first win of the season.

The 2015 season is heating up as Rankin Construction will present a full card of racing plus Autograph Night. Also scheduled will be a 25 lap Eve of Destruction (EoD) Enduro Qualifier. Gates will open at 4:30pm with racing getting underway at 6:30pm sharp. In just two weeks, kick off Civic Holiday Weekend as it will be time for the All Canadian Championships.
