Latest offering from Honda Performance Development to compete in SRO TC America Powered by the Skip Barber Racing School competition starting in 2024. Orders being taken now for 2024 season. Pre-order window August 14th – September 26th.

SANTA CLARITA, CA – Honda Performance Development, the leader of Honda and Acura high-performance and motorsports programs in North America, today unveiled its newest offering for Touring Car racing in North America, the Acura Integra Type S DE5.

The new Integra Type S DE5 will be eligible for competition in the premier TCX class of the SRO TC America championship, where it will compete against other premium sports car brands; and approval is being sought for the Integra to take part in the growing Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) series.

“HPD is proud to have developed the Acura Integra Type S DE5, and make it available for competition,” said John Whiteman, HPD Commercial Manager. “Our newest offering builds on the significant success we have achieved in North American Touring Car racing. Supported by our outstanding commercial and trackside engineering staff we are looking forward to seeing the Acura Integra Type S DE5 competing in 2024.

HPD’s newest race car is based on the Acura Integra Type S premium sport compact, which became available through Acura dealers nationwide in June of this year. The Integra Type-S DE5 is the next in a line of highly successful HPD developed touring cars including versions of the 10th generation Si and Type-R and the 11th generation Si FE1.

Like the 11th generation Civic Si FE1 race car, the competition version of the Integra Type S is designed, developed, and assembled inside Honda’s state-of-the-art North American facilities employing groundbreaking technologies in weld, body construction, painting, final assembly and quality confirmation to ensure the highest levels of precision and craftsmanship.

The Acura Integra Type S DE5 will be powered by a modified version of the factory 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder K20C8 engine. The racing version of the engine, co-developed by HPD and HRC produces in excess of 360hp. That power is then directed to the wheels via a 6-speed sequential, paddle-shift transmission to HPD developed suspension and brakes. The body shell is purpose built from a body-in-white which deletes all unneeded street vehicle components – such as sound proofing, underbody coating and seam sealers – and is then fitted with a safety roll cage; then completed with aerodynamic components and cooling upgrades.

Pre-orders are now being accepted at HPD with a deposit of $25,000, with the balance due upon delivery. Orders can be placed directly through HPD Customer Service by phone (661-702-7777) or email at grmsadmin@na.honda.com.
