Little Britain, (March 18, 2014) ON-Following a successful launch at the Canadian Motorsports Expo show where the new GLORY DAYS Celebration of Speed received enthusiastic interest, we are pleased to announce that registration is open and entries are being received.
Interestingly, the first two confirmed entrants for the featured Hillclimb event couldn’t be further apart in terms of racing worlds.
The first to get on board was Canadian racing legend, Bill Brack. Bill is a three-time Formula Atlantic Champion who raced against and defeated coming greats like Gilles Villenueve, Bobby Rahal and Keke Rosberg among others. Bill is an “all-rounder” having begun his career in Minis, moving on to Formula Atlantic, F1 and Stock Cars. He will be piloting his championship-winning Lotus 59/69 and he is eager to get back on track at Mosport and the challenge of the counter-clockwise uphill course.
Bill Brack said: “I’m so thrilled and excited to attend this year’s Glory Days Celebration of Speed. It’s been a long time since I last raced my Lotus 59/69. This Lotus won more championship races than any other Lotus. Doug Crosty, the incredible mechanic, engineered this racecar from day one and will be with me again at this event. He still maintains the upkeep of this Lotus and has taken care of it since 1973. We will be ready once again to ‘shine’ and win this great event at Mosport.”
Next to jump in was ‘Cowboy Dan’ Price, a favourite of the CME and the short ovals, especially Peterborough Speedway. Dan will be in his 1957 Chevy-bodied Thunder Car. Dan is looking forward to charging the 1.8-mile uphill course, which is six times longer than a lap at the speedway and comes complete with five corners, two of which are righthanders!

Dan’s thoughts are these, “I’m extremely excited to come to GLORY DAYS. I’ve been a fan of the Goodwood hill climb for quite some time and the diversity of the machines that run up that hill always amused me. Bringing an oval track car to a road course won’t be without it’s challenges and should make for some exciting runs up the hill for the fans and myself alike.”
Participation in the GLORY DAYS Hillclimb is open to every year and every kind of car and motorcycle whether street or race. With such wide variety, the fun and spectacle promise to be unlike anything ever seen in North America. In addition to the hillclimb there is a literal circus of events planned for the weekend including, full course lapping, car shows, car corrals, a car and bike auction, a soap box derby, featured divers and cars and much more.
GLORY DAYS will thrill your senses and capture your heart like no other event. You don’t want to miss it!
GLORY DAYS Celebration of Speed is unique in North America and it holds something both pleasing and thrilling for every motoring, riding and racing enthusiast.
Be captured, be thrilled, BE THERE!
