Vaughan (ON), March 31, 2022 – Di Benedetto Racing announces its participation in the FEL Motorsports sanctioned Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin (SCCC) series for the 2022 season.

The Ontario-based team will field the #4 Gamelancer | Di Benedetto Racing | Bestline Auto Tech Audi RS3 LMS in Canada’s most competitive Touring class in Canada. SCCC has rapidly become the most popular sports car platform in the country, making this series the logical step for 25 years-old Justin Di Benedetto and Di Benedetto Racing.

“I am beyond thrilled to be making my sportscar debut in SCCC this season,” said Justin. “It will be a huge step from the Sentra Cup, although my two last seasons in this series helped me develop as a driver.”

For the team, getting Audi’s TCR challenger was an obvious choice, “Audi’s customer service is beyond compared, and their car is proven, so it was an easy decision for us.”

However, Di Benedetto Racing won’t take delivery of their new Audi RS3 LMS Gen 2 until this summer because of a delay at the factory. In the meantime, the team elected to purchase an Audi RS3 LMS Gen 1 to ensure they would not miss a race.

This season, the goal is simple; get familiar with the TC Canada platform. “We need to approach this season methodically and not set unrealistic goals,” declared Justin Di Benedetto. “We have an extensive checklist waiting for us, but we need to get comfortable with the car first and use our gained experience as a building block for something bigger down the line. Of course, we also hope to translate our effort and challenge for wins this season.”

“I am especially excited to compete in the Streets of Toronto,” stated Di Benedetto. “The Honda Indy Toronto is my home race, so I will be looking to climb on the podium!”

Di Benedetto Racing’s main goal is to soak in as much information as the team can therefore, they hired an experienced crew to work on the car. “I am happy to have our technical partners involved this season. I wish to thank BestLine Auto Tech, Wrap Werks, Ad Impact, Audi Sport Customer Racing for their support. Our ultimate goal would be to gradually step into the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next season, which is probably the most competitive series in North America at the moment and compete in select races. This is why we need the best people surrounding us,” concluded Justin.

Di Benedetto Racing is pleased to confirm that Keith Willis will be back with the team as an engineer and driver coach for the upcoming season. Willis has gained extensive experience in Formula racing, before switching to sportscar and Endurance in 2014, where he won two championships.

“ We are proud and excited to partner once again with Di Benedetto Racing,” stated Jon Dwyer, CEO of Gamelancer. “ We can’t wait to see what Justin will achieve in the SCCC series, which seems like the logical step in his motorsports career. A strong relationship with Di Benedetto Racing positions Gamelancer to be ahead of the curve when it comes to new trends and innovations in the space, especially when it comes to their new Audi RS3 LMS Gen 2 that will feature state-of-the-art technologies.”

“We are extremely thankful to our partners for their continuous support this season,” added Tony Di Benedetto, Team Principal. “They were all excited to jump in this new adventure with us after the successes of the past few years.”

Di Benedetto Racing wishes to thank Gamelancer, Launch Capital, Hybrid Financial, Nugen Medical Devices, Drone Delivery Canada, Canaccord Genuity – The Polonoski Team, Danavation, Irwin Lowy LLP, WhiteCap, Rentex, Garfinkle Bidderman LLP, Caliber Homes, Buzbuzian Capital, First Canadian Capital, Sunset on the Pacific Capital, Lynwood Capital, Huddes Communications, D&B Chartered Accountants, Humphries Planning Group, Wrap Werks, Sussex Strategy, Cormark Securities, MetaWorld, Green Butts, RevWerks, Channel 13 Communications, MIT Consulting, Add Impact, CloudRep, Bestline Auto Tech, Audi Sport Customer Racing
