TORONTO, ON – With the anticipation of a full season and to provide additional competition for its drivers and fans, the Canadian Supercar Series (Supercar) confirmed that there will be two Classes of competition beginning in 2013.
“Our drivers were extremely impressed with our inaugural event last year and our fans were thrilled with some of the close competition on the track,” stated John Bondar, President of Supercar. “Two Classes will attract more competitors and make our events even more exciting for our fans,” he continued.
Fans will see high performance race cars such as the Acura NSX, Dodge Viper, Ferrari 458 and Porsche GT3 is Super 1 (S1) Class while race cars such as the Audi S4, BMW M3, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and Porsche Cayman/996/997 in Super 2 (S2) Class. The two Classes with compete at the same time on the track and challenge for supremacy in their class.
The season kicks off with the Victoria Day Speedfest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 18-19, 2013.
