Right Move, Right Time: Tim Fuller Closes Canadian Swing With Long-Awaited Brockville Ontario Victory Lane Return

BROCKVILLE, ON – JUNE 2, 2012 – After the first four weeks, there have been four different smiling faces in 358 Modified victory lane at Brockville Ontario Speedway.  Elginburg’s Bobby Herrington added his name to the distinguished list on Saturday night with a dramatic late race pass for the win at the Beast of the East.

Lengthy rains on Friday and early Saturday made for an ultra-fast track on Saturday night with lap times for the Modifieds in the low 14 second range.  Jason Riddell was rocketing around the speedway pulling out to big leads before multiple cautions slowed the field.  Herrington, meanwhile would get close to trapping the number 9 in lapped traffic only for the yellow flag to fly and abort his opportunity to take the lead.

His luck changed on lap 28 when Herrington passed Riddell on the second to last restart of the event as the pair went to wheel to wheel for a lap and a half before yet another caution flew again just after the 25 had taken the lead.  Tim O Brien was third followed by Stephane LaFrance and Luke Whitteker.

Chris Herbison made it 3 out of 4 in the Sportsman division as he took over the lead when Dylan Evoy’s car failed to come up to speed on a restart and went onto take the 25 lap event.  Dana Aikins finished second to the defending track champion from Brockville, with Steve Billings, Ryan Robertson and Ryan Poole not far behind.

Cornwall’s Derek Cryderman held off a furious late race challenge from Kevin Fetterly Jr. for Street Stock honours.  Derrick Eaton, Brock Cullen and Danny Mocibob rounded out the fast five. Joe McNichols got the break he needed when Quincy Roberts had his tire go flat under the final caution.  McNichols took his third Rookie feature win of 2012 in front of Chris Bakker, Corbin Miller, Josh Kirkland and Colin Tracey. Brian Comeau made it two in a row in the Vintage class outdistancing Denzil Billings jr, Paul Billings, Ryan Comeau and Steve Lackie.
