Boisbriand (Québec), July 2, 2013.– Brothers Mathieu and Rémy Audette will both be on the track this weekend at Mirabel’s Circuit ICAR where, for the first time since 2005, they will come face to face in the two Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) races.  At the wheel of the new Dimensions Doors/Novatech Honda Civic Si, Rémy Audette will attempt to claim the victory ahead of his older brother Mathieu, who will drive the Acura RSX with which Rémy started the season.

For the entire Audette Racing Team, the presence of both cars at the Jiffy Lube 100 (2013 Grand Prix ICAR de Mirabel) is a lot of extra work but having both blue and orange cars on the track is a great motivator.

Mathieu comments, “This wasn’t in the original plans at the start of the season but good time management and the fact that both cars are ready allowed us to proceed with this idea. For sure it’s going to be interesting racing against Rémy, we haven’t done that in the same race since 2005 ! Eight years, goes by way too fast !”

Mathieu Audette is eager to contest his first round of the 2013 season.

“Of course we would like to finish first and second; something that’s never yet happened in our careers,” declared the driver of the #12 Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX.

For Rémy Audette, who is contesting the entire CTCC championship, the goals are also fairly high.

“The Circuit ICAR is not my favourite track but I couldn’t really put my finger on why.  We went testing last week and I think I just may have figured it out, which leaves me feeling much more at ease on this course going forward.  Plus, it’s only a few minutes from home and it would be great to clinch a good result in front of all of our family, friends, and supporters,” he confides.

The former American F2000 champion adds, “we were able to tweak the Dimensions Doors/Novatech Civic Si during our private test sessions.  The power steering issue isn’t 100% sorted out but everything else is ready to go.”

Rémy Audette concludes, “The RSX is fully developed, the Civic is progressing really well and the times for both of these cars are really close.  It will definitely be exciting and motivating for the entire Audette Racing Team to see both drivers together in the same race.”

The Jiffy Lube 100 takes place on the Circuit ICAR track, situated behind the hangar of the former Mirabel International Airport.  This weekend’s race is the most important event of the year at the track because it merges the Canadian NASCAR series, the CTCC, the Formula Tour 1600, Procam, the Super Production Challenge, GT cars, and more.

CTCC drivers will be on the course for 30-minute races on Saturday evening at 5:15 pm and again on Sunday morning at 11:30.

The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, JSA, Robover, Sturtz, Milette Portes, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
