@GP3R • @DumoulinDC • @NASCARHomeTrack • Trois-Rivières, QC, (August 3, 2015) – From the beginning, in multiple series, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin shows up at home with the same eagerness as always in order to compete in front of his partners, family, friends, and fans who have come to encourage him.
On the road circuit of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has privileged carefulness for the championship during yesterday’s “JuliaWine.com’s 50 laps” event. Behind the wheel of the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada / Group Bellemare, the Trois-Rivières native has crossed the finish line in fifth place, which allowed him to solidify his fourth place in the standings.
During the first practice session on Saturday, August 1st, the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Group Bellemare team has worked on a few adjustments. However, the rain hasn’t allowed them to carry them through correctly and optimize the on-track settings for the qualifying. In fifth place on the starting grid, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin quickly realized that he was not equipped to fight for a victory, and intelligently decided to protect his place throughout the race.
“Right from the start, we understood that we didn’t have the necessary speed to win. The competition was very tough for the third place. However, during the last restart, the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Group Bellemare car’s starter remained stuck, which slowed down the engine and made it impossible to fight for the podium. There is only a one-point difference between fourth and fifth place, so we preferred to insure our place through the end of the race,” explains Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
Eighteen points behind the leader, the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Group Bellemare team can still aim for a championship win.
“We’re still fighting for the championship “podium”, there are still three races to go; one road track and two oval circuits. Everything can change quickly, and we’re continuing to work hard on what’s next. We have a very hard working team and we’re all looking in the same direction to come back stronger in Riverside,” shares the determined 2014 champion.
