Boisbriand (Québec), June 4, 2013.– Rémy Audette will contest the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) races and the Formula Tour 1600 races as part of the Formula 1  Grand Prix du Canada at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Four races in total await the Audette Racing Team.  They fully intend to achieve top 5 finishes in all races and have not discounted a podium top spot!

Following the first CTCC round of the season, the entire Audette Racing Team spent the last month in Ontario working tirelessly to develop the new Honda Civic Si in order to prepare it for the most media-watched motorsporting event of the year, explains Rémy Audette : « the Dimensions Doors / Novatech Civic is now ready.  Our tests were conclusive and we’re on the right path with the development. It may be a little too soon to say that we’re set for the victory this weekend because the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is very demanding but at the same time, it’s my favourite track and I really want to get a good result here with this new car » explains the Québec driver, who is looking to claim a top 5 finish.

Once again, Rémy will bring his Dimensions Doors / Novatech Acura as a reserve vehicle after his brother Mathieu opted out of the original plan to compete this weekend’s event and will instead compete in the rounds at the end of August.

In addition to the two CTCC races with the Audette Racing Team, Rémy Audette will contest two Formula Tour 1600 races, where he will use the Cadorette Racing Team’s new CMV open wheel. Rémy knows the series well and was Formula Tour 1600 champion in 2007.  That year, he won the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada support series race on June 9th, the exact same date the race will take place this year ! « We just finished testing the car at Sanair and I’m feeling confident.  The battle for the win will be a close one but expect us to go fast too ! I truly believe that we have good chances of winning this series » confides Rémy, who already drove this Québec-built CMV open wheel last fall, at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant.

The first Formula Tour 1600 race will take place on Saturday afternoon, directly after the Formula 1 qualifying (2:30pm) and will be immediately followed by the first CTCC race.  Sunday morning, the second CTCC race will be held from 9 – 9:30am and fifteen minutes later will mark the start of the second FT1600 race.

The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, JSA, Robover, Sturtz, Milette Doors, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
