SAD NEWS: Harry Macy
Just heard the sad news that veteran racer / promoter Harry Macy has passed away. Don't know the details, but Harry was a great friend of motorsports. He was a longtime racer, car owner and president of the Can-Am Midget Racing Club. He was also the promoter of the winter indoor TQ and karting events at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.
NASCAR Hall of Fame announces new inductees
DAYTONA BEACH, FL - NASCAR announced today the inductees who will comprise the 2014 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person group – the fifth in NASCAR Hall of Fame history – consists of Tim Flock, Jack Ingram, Dale Jarrett, Maurice Petty and Fireball Roberts. Next year's Induction Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from Charlotte, N.C.
Peterborough Speedway kicks off 2103 with successful Fan Appreciation Night
PETERBOROUGH, ON - Peterborough Speedway opened its season with an exciting lineup of racecars and stands packed with spectators for fan appreciation night. Even the first race, Heat 1 of the Battlefield Equipment Rental Four Fun, opened with excitement with Brandon Sawers-Foster's X car hitting the outside wall of turn three on the first lap, causing extensive damage.

Following months of hard work in the off season the team also dealt with adversity during the race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and battled hard to record an eighth place finish.
Louis-Philippe Dumoulin wins NCATS opener at CTMP
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series kicked off its 2013 season on Sunday afternoon at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The Pinty's Presents Vortex 200 was won by Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, driving the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Dodge.
NCATS: J.R. Fitzpatrick earns the pole for Sunday's NASCAR season opener at CTMPe For NASCAR Season Opener
BOWMANVILLE, ON - NASCAR Canadian Tire Series veteran J.R. Fitzpatrick set the pace for the season opening race, by setting a new qualifying track record at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with a time of 1:23.286. The Ayr, Ont. native is a three-time winner of the historic 3.957 km road course.
