Just heard the sad news that veteran racer / promoter Harry Macy has passed away. Don't know the details, but Harry was a great friend of motorsports. He was a longtime racer, car owner and president of the Can-Am Midget Racing Club. He was also the promoter of the winter indoor TQ and karting events at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.
DAYTONA BEACH, FL - NASCAR announced today the inductees who will comprise the 2014 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person group – the fifth in NASCAR Hall of Fame history – consists of Tim Flock, Jack Ingram, Dale Jarrett, Maurice Petty and Fireball Roberts. Even the first race, Heat 1 of the Battlefield Equipment Rental Four Fun, opened with excitement with Brandon Sawers-Foster's X car hitting the outside wall of turn three on the first lap, causing extensive damage.
