Theetge looked well on his way to winning the previous race at St-Eustache, until a duel with eventual winner Dery left him facing the field against the turn three wall. Theetge has collected two wins for himself in 2012, however, and the two-time Serie ACT Castrol Champion will look to close the 13-point gap between himself and Dery after a blown motor at Circuit Riverside on July 14.
Defending Champion Patrick Laperle will look to recover from a series of flat tires in St-Croix two weeks ago in an effort to claim a record third Serie ACT Castrol championship. Laperle is just one point behind rival Theetge for second, and has six victories to his name at his home track St-Eustache. Dany Trepanier and David Michaud are sitting well in the top five after proving to be the models of consistency, with ten top ten finishes between the pair. Both will look to break out for their first wins of 2012 at St-Eustache. Patrick Hamel, Patrick Cliche, former Champion Karl Allard, Rookie Etienne Cliche, and Gaetan Lauzier complete the top ten heading into this weekend's 200-lap event.
The Serie ACT Castrol championship battle continues this Saturday, July 28 at Autodrome St-Eustache (QC) for the ACT 200. Post time is 6:00pm.
