After two wins at GP3R, Super Touring class leader Eric Hochgeschurz (8Legs Racing BMW 330i) holds a lead of 75 points over rival Scott Nicol (Velocity Motorsports Honda Civic Si) and 82 points over Jerimy Daniel (The Racing Company Porsche Cayman S). Karl Wittmer is an arm’s length away in his Lombardi Honda Civic Si. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is a track where all four drivers excel and should present an outstanding show for the spectators.
In Touring class, Team Octane’s driver Michel Sallenbach (Mini Cooper Coupe) is leading the way after winning the five previous races! As Michel states, “There are still five races to go, so my championship lead is far from comfortable”. Jon Young (M&S Racing Honda Civic Si), is doing extremely well holding second place in the championship. Jon came back to racing this season after a three-year of absence and it was certainly worth the wait. Paul Gravel is sitting in third place, only 233 points behind his teammate Michel Sallenbach. More than 500 points are up for grabs to the end of the season, so everyone will have to be on their game.
The Grand Touring class leader and second year CTCC contender, Chris Sahakian, shows a solid lead behind the wheel of his Ford Mustang still bolstered by his first pro series win ever at Shannonville in Round #7. Almost nose to nose with a 20-point difference, in second and third places are the Hyundai Genesis/Blanchet Motorsports teammates of Bob Attrell and Damon Sharpe. Both are very fast at their home track and they should be able to shorten the gab behind the leader. Also, Alex Tagliani will be driving the Fast Wheels Ford Mustang Boss 302 for the second time this season.
