"This has, without question, been the most intense season of my racing career," laughs Klutt when asked about his nine events of the series. "We had some great years back when we were karting, but these NCATS teams are on an entirely new level. Racing with them has been a phenomenal experience"
The second-generation standout has finished outside of the top-10 only twice this season, in addition to winning his first career series event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in May.
"Past results don't guarantee you anything in this series," cautions Klutt on the topic of his win at the facility earlier this season. "Everyone is so tough - and they're constantly improving. We had a great car when we were here in the spring, and we haven't stopped working on our road course program since then."
"Every team in this field is always evolving," adds Klutt. "They work day and night to make their programs better. So if you aren't doing the same thing, you don't stand much chance of keeping up on race day"
Klutt enters this weekend's Pinty's presents the Clarington 200 just three points behind fellow freshman Marc-Antoine Camirand in the rookie battle, and believes CTMP could provide the ideal backdrop for him to reclaim the top spot.
"The Rookie of the Year race is still wide open, as far as I'm concerned," says Klutt. "[Canadian Tire Motorsport Park] is one of the places in which we feel the most comfortable, so hopefully we can take this car to the front and score some much-needed points"
When asked his strategy for the penultimate race of the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season, Klutt explains that he hopes to be at the front of the field in the race's later stages in order to dodge any of the late-race fireworks that have made CTMP one of the most talked-about stops on the NCATS tour.
"The last few times the series has been to [CTMP] it has gotten pretty wild in the dying laps," explains Klutt. "If that's the case on Sunday, all we can hope for is that we're in front of it when it happens. We're confident that if we can keep all four corners on this car, good things will happen for us this weekend."
