Sunset Speedway: Last lap havoc leads to Tiemersma win

After a 27-lap battle, two late-race restarts and a three day review process, Tony "The Gun" Tiemersma exited week-2 with his first Limited Late Model victory of the young 2012 season. With 3 laps remaining, it appeared as though the win would be settled between provincial heavyweights "Mr. Excitement" Chris Morrow (No. 11 Morrow Electric/Contractor Rental Supply Chevrolet) and Mike "Lights Out" Bentley (No. 51 Dave Bentley Motorsports Chevrolet). The pair had waged war from the drop of the green flag, swapping the lead 4 times over 27 laps, with the battle intensifying with each passing lap.

ACT: Brackett Trio prepares for Oxford opener

Waterbury, VT – Tim, TJ, and Vanna Brackett have sent entries for the American Canadian Tour Armed Forces 150 this coming Sunday May 20. This will be the first time a father and daughter have raced together in an ACT race.

Canadian Nationals / 358-Modified MrDIRTcar Series to start off 2012 at Cornwall

After a long wait, the 2012 season will finally start this Sunday, May 20 at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the first race of the Gaetan's Chip Stand Canadian Nationals for the 358-Modifieds, this event will also have great importance as the MrDIRTcar 358-Modifieds Series will also begin his activities during this 100-lap event paying $4,000 to the winner. The Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series will also be part of this great night with a 40-lap feature as the Sportsman, Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock will have a regular show on Minute Auto Wash night.

Petty International Raceway set to open 2012 season on Saturday

RIVER GLADE, NB (May 15, 2012) - Petty International Raceway will roar to life this Saturday to start its second season which promises to bring even more excitement to regional race fans than last year. And track owners Brett Benoit, Craig McFetridge, and Wayne Smith are anticipating a full-house when the green flag flies for the first time this year.

Inside Track TV: Quebec racer Martin Latulippe at Toledo (May 2012)

In this episode of Inside Track TV, Vallee-Jonction, Quebec racer Martin Latulippe checks in after qualifying 11th for the CRA Super Series 7-Up 100 at Toledo Speedway. It was Latulippe's first visit to the Ohio ½-mile. He impressed early but faded before the halfway mark, en route to a 17th-place finish.

Linc Brown a step closer to the year's first green flag

Driver Linc Brown poses next to the #99 Kawartha Metals Dodge Charger. After a 3 year layoff, he'll be back in action with Kawartha Speedway's NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Models.

The hours may be long, but the rewards are many. Getting a racecar ready for action at the local speedway is hard work. There's much more to it than just filling the tank with gas and hoping for the best. Linc Brown has been away from Kawartha Speedway's weekly wars since the end of the 2008 season, but his heart has never lost the desire to compete. With the 2012 campaign getting closer every day, the Colborne, Ontario runner crossed another item off his pre-season checklist as this year's graphics package was applied to the #99 Kawartha Metals/The Wolf 101.5 Radio/Don Butt Auto Body/Mayhew Graphics/Clarke Motorsports Communications Dodge Charger.

Parker Traves is looking to follow in his father's footsteps

This season, Parker Traves is following in his father's footsteps, ready to take on his rookie season Mini Stock division at Sunset Speedway. "I'm kinda nervous heading into the season cause there are some big names in the Mini Stock field but I think we got the car and capabilities to run with them," the son of OSCAAR Competitor Albert Traves states.

Mack DeMan sweeps TQ field in season opener

Mack DeMan was the class of the field for the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets' first race of their 47th season at Flamboro Speedway (Ont.). Starting 3rd after qualifying with a win in his heat race, DeMan took the lead on lap 7 from Chris Holman and walked away from the field.
