STROUD, ON (September 12, 2017)- After celebrating his first career Late Model victory last weekend, Jordan Latimer was poised to come out with another strong run on Saturday night.

Unfortunately, luck saw the night not go as planned for the JL Motorsports team.

The third-generation driver managed to qualify sixth for the first feature despite blowing a head gasket in qualifying. With repairs made, he ran up front early, battling side-by-side with Lane Zardo for fifth in the early stages. He slipped back to sixth, and remained there until he made his way down pit road on Lap 15. Unfortunately, a broken rocker stud took him out of the event early.

The team would make the necessary repairs once again, and had him ready for the second feature later on that night.

Starting from 17th, he began to make his way forward, running 14th as of the race's lone caution at Lap 5. He continued to move forward, moving into 12th at the halfway mark. He would move up another position to 11th, but with time focused on repairs and not on adjustments ahead of the event, an ill-handling car saw him cross the finish line there.

Jordan Latimer will return to Sunset Speedway on September 16 in hopes of scoring his 15th top-10 of the season on the final points night of 2017. He entered this past Saturday night sitting eighth in the track standings, just 21 markers behind seventh.

JL Motorsports is proud to be supported by KICX 106, The Dock 104.1, Tax Smart, Kitchen Tire, RIM Mechanical, Gambridge Go Karts, Krueger Electric Hazlett Trucking, and Creechers Design for the 2017 season.
