Semple started off the night quick, winning the first heat, before finishing fifth in the second qualifier after an impressive four-wide pass mid-race.
Beginning the feature from eighth, Semple began to make ground up quickly, running sixth as of the sixth lap, remaining there until the first caution flew at Lap 10. After a pair of back-to-back restarts, he looked to continue moving up, battling side-by-side with Johnny Morrison for fifth. Ultimately, it didn't pay off as he would end up slipping back to seventh by the time the third caution flew at the halfway mark.
Restarting just outside of the top-five, he would battle with Dustyn Mombourquette for sixth, with the pair making contact along the way. They were both able to keep it straight, though, with Semple moving up a position to fifth. He looked to move forward, but was passed for sixth spot instead before the next caution flew at Lap 24. Restarting in sixth with seven laps to go, he would move up to fifth behind the leaders.
Ahead of him on the final lap, the leaders would go three-wide, with contact being made in the process. He was able to slip by without getting caught up in the mess, crossing the finish line in fourth.
So far this season, Semple has been impressive on a weekly basis, with 10 top-five’s in 16 races this season. He will look to capture his second feature victory of the year on the final points night of the year on September 16. Notably, he entered last Saturday night sitting second in the track standings.
