Just one season in to his modified racing career, Brent McLean, a product of the well-known Ontario racing family, is poised to tackle the OSCAAR modified touring series for the 2012 season. After spending some time with the Hurricane Midgets touring series, McLean was eager to compete in a touring series in his new modified. Although he has just one season of modified racing to his name, McLean has some of the most knowledgeable teammates and family members in Ontario modified racing to help him through the transition.

Veteran Ontario late model racer Paul Law is joining the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Model tour for the 2012 racing season. Driving his familiar #72 Midas of Orangeville, Ron Little Trucking, Hawk Shop Chevrolet Impala, Law will be competing in a touring series for the first time since a stint with the American Cup Lite tour in the early 2000's.

Here's a sneak peek (below #77) at Delaware Speedway Super Stock fan favourite Darrell Lake's ride for the 2012 season. The London, ON frontrunner debuted the new look at the 2012 London Auto Show. Lake has announced he will return to Delaware for a full slate of competition in 2012, and will also launch a highly anticipated touring schedule. (UPDATE) Lake will return to Delaware on a part-time basis in 2012, while focusing the majority of his efforts on a highly anticipated touring schedule. Outside of Delaware, Lake hopes to compete in Sunset Speedway's MRE Super Stock Pro Series and make a debut appearance at Fraserville, ON's Kawartha Speedway, in addition to other still to be confirmed events.

After 15 years of Late Model racing throughout the province of Ontario, Jim Bowman is making the transition to run a full-schedule in 2012 with the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Models. Bowman will be driving the #63 Re/Max Canada, Cash Inn Loans, TMG Mortgages, Hanover Holidays, Grisdale Racing Products Chevrolet Camaro. The Fergus, Ontario native is the third generation of Bowman's in Ontario motorsports as his uncles Lloyd and Albert have both raced stock cars, while his father Roy raced a font-engine dragster.

Less than a week removed from the conclusion of the Canadian Motorsports Expo at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario and it feels as though the OSCAAR season should be starting in the next few weeks. But there remains just over three months until opening night at Sunset Speedway on May 20. Nonetheless, preparations are well underway for both series officials and drivers alike. After convening at the CME for three days from February 10-12, the excitement for the 2012 OSCAAR season was clear given the number of visitors that stopped by the OSCAAR booth over the course of the three day exhibition.

After a 2011 season that saw him claim both the first annual Delaware Speedway Matco Tools Showdown and the second edition of Sunset's Velocity 250, Rob Clarke has announced he will return to the OSCAAR Super Late Model tour fulltime in 2012. The winningest OSCAAR driver in tour history, 'Magic Shoes' will chase the series championship for the first time since the 2007, in search of a record setting 6th OSCAAR championship. The London, ON-based veteran will get an early start to his 2012 season, when his car appears in the OSCAAR booth at the 6th annual Canadian Motorsports Expo from February 10th – 12th.

MATT PRITIKO: 2011 Delaware Speedway Late Model runner-up Matt Pritiko has announced his plans for the 2012 season. The London, ON driver will return to Delaware fulltime once again, in search of his first career short-track championship, on the heels of a stellar 2011 campaign. Opening night will mark the debut of Pritiko's own Matt Pritiko Motorsports operation, after competing with Urlin Motorsports the past 2 seasons.
