A group of Ontario stock car promoters has announced the creation of a new Super Late Model series, called the Ontario Super Late Model Series. On Tuesday, December 5, they put out the following release:

“We are excited to announce the creation of the Ontario Super Late Model Series. As we are all aware over the past years Ontario’s fastest full body stock car shows have been suffering.Upon the completion of the 2017 season a team of promotors got together to come up with a solution for Super Late Model racing in Ontario. After consulting with Dave Gainforth, from OSCAAR, it was agreed upon that a new united group would take the reins of the Super Late Models heading into 2018.

2018 will see a complete different landscape for Super Late Model racing, featuring a schedule consisting of eight or nine races, 75-lap feature events with an attractive purse structure along with a points fund to reward and encourage drivers to attend all events.

In regards to scheduling, we have worked hard to ensure that shows will not run head to head with the APC Late Model Series. Dates will be at the following venues: Flamboro Speedway, Jukasa Motor Speedway, Peterborough Speedway, Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway. There is also a tentative date planned for Kawartha Speedway.

We will be holding an information & registration meeting on Tuesday, December 12 @ 7 p.m. in the Bobby Orr Room at the Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex, located at 99 Thornton Rd. S. in Oshawa (take the Stevenson Rd. exit from Hwy. 401).

Details related to the purse structure, points fund, the race schedule and rules will also be released at the meeting.

Registration will also be held at the discounted price of $100 plus HST, which will be increased to $250 at the start of the new year.”
