15 Supers is not a show. I got a heads up that the count was going to be low. Too much racing in the days leading up to Cayuga. I friend was at the King of Wings in the pits and got the drift  drivers were going to pass on Cayuga. I'd really like to say "I told you so" but I won't. I just hope for the next race they do their homework and are more successful.

I would think they wouldn't be on the tail end of 3 supermod races in 6 days next time, but that's what they were limited to this year. There's only so much you can fix mid-season.

I'm eating my words now, I had hoped for over 25 cars, oh well it was nice to be at Cayuga again, great weather, track looks great, ran into many old friends, nice to see Zammit win the race.  I sat with long time Cayuga flagman Bob Anderson.

I was at Oswego as well on Saturday night and heard the same thing, too much racing in a short period of time between Stafford, Oswego and Cayuga, as well as border issues.  These comments were from fans as well as the drivers.

It would be fun to see what would happen on a weekend (in the summer) where ISMA & MSA were both available for a Saturday show, using Sunday for the rain date.  I thought the crowd was pretty decent for a show that had from what I could find, very little advertising. Not sure how the music end of things went, but I hope the promoter mad some money and that he is still interested in promoting racing of any kind at Cayuga.

I for one thank him for his efforts, and wish him success in the future at Cayuga.

Ditto. Lets hope Bill's willing to talk another crack at another race weekend. A little bit of print advertising will help the crowd. People can't show if you don't know about it.

I agree aswell Rick. I heard the bands played friday night for a crowd of 50 or so. It was good to see the Supers back there and even better to see Sammut win. however the sleeping giant was still abit groggy I would say.  So much potential there I just wish someone could make a go of it but I too applaud him for his efforts.

Jay: how about a dirt sportsman on asphalt race. Right up your alley, correct? ML

I thought the vintage modified (hobby's) put on a pretty good show as well, too bad they did not have more cars, but they were a pretty good support division, I'd like to see them with the Supers again, kind of a throw-back to the old Super days for some of the older fans!  Maybe someone in the pits can chime in with what the crowd looked like, in my opinion, I've seen smaller crowds, I actually thought the crowd was not too bad for the lack of advertising.  I look forward to the new Cayuga program...Good Luck to Bill.

Rick - i thought the crowds were ok - maybe about 800-1000?
Those grandstands are deceptive since they hold so many people.
If the same crowd was at another smaller ont track, the stands
would look much fuller.  I'll check shortly - i do have photos that
show some of the stands.  I have seen them much emptier in the
last few years.

I wish Bill and the track much success in the future.

Re ISMA results,
Thanks, guess I should have looked there earlier.
Good to see Mark get the win.
He has come close a few times.
The whole team deserve to see some winning results for the effort they put forth.

If Oswego can get the USAC Slver Crown cars for this year, what about Cayuga for next year. Pair them up with a good support division and I'm there. If not them what about USAC sprint cars. I saw them many years ago at Cayuga in a Monday night. They did twin 35's. They flat out smoked the track.
