Why not a panel of loyal fans. It usually works for radio stations. I don't know if any  track has tried this, but it might work. It might not work for this year but what about next.

If you throw out the assumption that every track is going to survive, finding cars and fans becomes much easier to do. Just food for thought...

I believe someone is missing a golden opportunity here. Why does some bright owner not hire Jason to manage and promote their facility? I can see them now lining up to hire him!!

bright owners don't post on here

Tim Miller in the Hamilton Spec finally has something today. Says Bill Hill is leasing the track from Jerry Santucci. Nothing in the article about the Auto Value Super Sprint race July 11, only about the races on the 12th. Mentions the race with Nascar stars and former stars in August but nothing about what kind of cars, support divisions, etc.
Ironic that the picture accompanying the article is of the #61 Oscaar SLM.

And with that kind of logic, I don't blame them!

Which makes everything going on all that much more "interesting"...

So, the situation is as clear as mud. How are we; the fans supposed to read this. Nothing is firm. Until I see an announcement with solid details I'm not making any plans. Leasing to me seems like we are on the road to more problems.

OSCAARS' Outlaw Super Latemodels Deserve TV Airing.. Premier Series For latemodels.  Most exiting racing Around. Thundering Engines..Outrageous Bodies..
Wild Wrecks..Great drivers.  I'd rather watch racing than  poker on TSN. Is card playing a sport? Huh If these Sport Channels Aired Real Sports..We Would'nt Be Talkin about what we could do to Keep Tracks Alive. We Need Racin on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree racing on TV would be great but not the chopped up edit crap that TSN currently shows of the NCATS weeks later when the winner has already been declared where is the excitement in that?

Lui, please explain how OSCAAR deserves TV time. No disrespect to it's competitors on this board and elsewhere but let's sum up the series. Their first race had 14 cars with maybe two cars that could have won. Barring any mechanical problems I would have put money on the top three being Watson, Tiemersma Dunsford with Gordon being fourth. Not exactly something even I would watch on TV. I commend the management of the series getting Clark, Fletcher and Spicer back behind the wheel for the last race but without these guys full time the series is too predictable. I am really hoping that the return of Gord Bennett can help out. I know it is not totally OSCAAR's fault and the economy is partially to blame but until they can get the likes of Hanley, Clarke, Bennett, Fletcher, Evans, MacGinnis, Shepstone, Woolsey, Tiemersma and Watson to be there for every race my desire to see them is not that great. I used to follow the series religiously back in the day but haven't seen them other than KD and Peterborough for the Classic in quite a number of years,. And from what I've heard I haven't missed much. I really don't see how they fill the stands at some tracks that they go to. The style, sound and speed definately get the heart pounding but that soon wears of and most of the races are one lane parades and komakazi driving by some weapons at the back. To say that they warrant TV time on TSN and Sportsnet? Huh ?? I will agree some local action on TV would be great but definately not plausible. The people on this board and some of the racers friends and family would make up most of the audience. That just isn't enough. How do you take that to the advertisers of the network?

I know Shane.. It All Might be just a pipe dream.... I remember just a few years back when Oscaar had a really healthy Field of drivers at all the race tracks. Apart from some returns and new comers to the series.. The feild has Shrunk Considerably.

As far as parading goes...No one wants to wreck because the purses arent worth wreckin for.
This is a tough one..I definitely don't want to watch Poker on the Sports Channels, Ontario is rich in Stock-car Racin History and deserves its recognition. Alot of Racing Enthusists probably have never Seen an Outlaw Super Latemodel and exposing them to a TV Audience might entice new Race fans at Short Tracks.

Poker is not a sport. It's to bad some channel locally does'nt have highlight package of thee weekend races. If Sportsnet can run air racing; which I really like, you'd think they could find time for a local racing show

James I know that when i went To Flamboro to watch Triple Crown Latemodels..There was the local Rogers crew there Filming..I thought that was great.  And the race was Fantastic. Have'nt seen a latemodel race like that in a while. It's pretty good exposure to Local Short-Track Racing.  Any little exposure would help ..I think.
