Sean, I tried a few things but couldn't get it to work. It may be the hosting site you're using for the pics - they may not allow hotlinking. If the URL is posted directly into the browser bar it works, so posting on the page could be the problem.
If that is the case, the only thing I can suggest is Photobucket. Works for me every time.
