I think the goal of both the track and the drivers is to have an affordable tire that will be approved by the insurance company to withold the speed these cars are going to be reaching.
That said, 13'' slicks would be awesome, but they're not very economically sound for this type of class.
Also, I realize alot of these guys might not like the idea of buying tires from the track at first, but remember, these cars will be performing at a much higher rate than what the Mini Stocks are...there's no way insurance would let it slide if they thought we were letting guys out there on junkyard tires.
So, before you complain, try to see this from every angle.
It's an awesome deal, and if the price of the tires are as cheap as we think they'll be, it makes complete sense considering what the purses look like.

spence from the standpoint of running a track insurance could care less about the tires, their concern is always the public, thepeople that sign the waivers are secondary.

i might be in Matt, cant let u have all the fun lmao. just not sure if i should turn the tank into an outlaw or build new.dont want to be the titanic out there. tire rule is good, us honda guys know what size works for us and it isn't a 13or 14 inch tire lol. another question for the engines, if running a dohc vtec...... would u be concidering cams as internal, my setup most likely will not need them but hey if allowed then y not?
and what side wall size are these tires going to be in? that is going to be big factor for suspension set up on the hieght issue

Mike asked dohc vtec...... would u be concidering cams as internal, my setup most likely will not need them but hey if allowed then y not? lol yah cams are internal, can use adjustabe gears tho.. I am still tossin' stuff around, so much on the go I have not had time to work on the car since before christmas. Re-skinned, new front end and it ended there for a bit. Got my kid all over me to start this year and I just don't have the room for 2 cars...so I dunno

There wont be a side wall size. If you want to run 45 series or 70 series, the choice is yours. Provided the tires that will be run come in a 45 series.
