What new/old idea do you have, that is of intrest to the race far and drivers?
We tried the ausse race last year, the fans loved it but the drivers did not want to compete.
Give me some ideas, and we will try and work them in.
Thanks Wes

I know next year is going to be no points which is something that disappoints me as that is what makes the year worth while to me...the year end result....working towards one goal or title. But either way Im going to race.
With you planning Invitationals each Saturday night it going to be hard to keep it fresh(mind you you have more room to experiment with stuff without points). I like the idea that the Dirt series uses to invert the top 12....the redraw each driver in the top 12 draws a number which will place them some where from 1 to 12. I know at Merritville the last 2 years for the Big Block race they involve kids from the stands and usually the kid who ends up being pole wins a prize(usually a trip so Super Dirt Week). Now i dont see that being entertaining doing it 4 times a night for each division but maybe come up with different ideas to invert the field and use a different on for each division.
I want to suggest double file restarts but we all know the dangers of double file restarts on a short track.
Maybe some how use time trials some nights as barrie does when they run double features...but coming up with a completly accurate way of time trialing might be difficult and require some spending to get the technology in for this.
Thats all i can think of right now but im sure there are enough ppl out there with ideas to share.

How about the sunday night invitationals on the long weekends? Haven't seen any of these except for the end of season events at various tracks. Back in the 90's you where able to run on a saturday night, pack up and head to a sunday night invitational event.

Brendan thanks for you answers all of them good. First there will (hopefully) be points money, and it would be paid on a nightly bases instead of waiting for the season end. this will also help anyone who is short of cash ( and what race driver isn't?) receiving the money each night. The nightly invitationals will be great for the fan and the race driver as well. the fans will get to see many different cars from other tracks, and the drivers will get to compete against some of the best around. we will draw each night for starting positions, and than will invert the top 10 or 12 or so. Double file restarts are very dangerous and sometimes the leader can be taken out by a to over zealous driver. thanks Wes

I still think running Sunday invitationals as opposed to Saturday night would be terrific.
It would result in higher car counts, that's an absolute certainty

Thanks Jason for your reply; Yes I am well aware that most of us run on Sat. night. but we still have the rest of the week (except Friday) that no one else runs. Plus the fact there are a lot of drivers who really don't care about points, but just the money. so there will be some drivers who don't care and some who are not in the running for points, that will race at Sunsset for the larger purse that we will be giving plus any money we have from sponsors for points, will be given out on a nightly bases. thanks Wes

there are alot of very successful tracks that run mid-week
for instance, Thompson Speedway in CT has been one of the most profitable and successfull tracks in north america, running a weekly schedule on Thursday nights
for an out of the box idea like weekly invitationals, perhaps an equally out of the box idea is needed to determine what night to run on....

LOL go figure you use Thompson for an example....It the market down there that really helps them...down there running a thursday is logical with most guys running 3 to 4 times a weekend every weekend its just about the only way to secure car count without stepping on toes...but its ok Spence your still my hero..poker this weekend.
Wes ill assume formal announcments will follow the weekend as you say but Driver meeting date? Any idea? Also im interested as to this working with Barrie you are talking about?
