Montreal Canadiens defenceman Patrice Brisebois has announced his retirement from hockey and plans to race in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

No word on if it's full or part time, but a decent profile addition to the series for 2010.

I was reading today he had a racing background and had already run 2 Canadian tire series races? Anyone know if that's true?

Yep.

He ran the Ferrari Challenge series for a number of years, and this year competed in the Canadian Tire Series at both Trois Riveres and Montreal. He didn't look out of place.
